How do you make time for self-care?
Boundaries
Boundaries
Even more boundaries…
Energetic, physical
Protecting my peace is critical

I’m a giver, here to help
I’ll give until there’s nothing for myself
After growing up with very little
I have little use for excessive, earthly wealth
I am, however, blessed to be rich
Rich in wisdom gained through imposed patience
Patience to give my life to God
His plan is perfect; timing isn’t my job

Patience to grow slowly through all the pain
Traumas so great I feel I’m going insane
No longer do I drown it with the poison, liquor
Instead, I rest, eat and bounce back quicker
In the still, secret space of mine
I converse with God, spending precious time
Thanking Him for vindication

Praising His Name with full elation
Sobbing fat, happy tears of relief
That He has helped me navigate my grief
I was not a child others saw
I was an object unprotected by law
But I’ll always be a child of God’s
He lifts me up against all odds

I run to Jesus when I need peace
I run to Him and the chaos will quickly cease
I am his bride, forever and always
Everyone else I look at sideways
For me self care is to read, learn, improve
Anyone who doesn’t? I flatly refuse

This is how I protect the stability of my peace
Boundaries
boundaries
BOUNDARIES.
